Monday, December 24, 2018 - Brought for lunch at my parents in laws'. Diam cork. Decanted for one hour. The medium-bodied wine was dark ruby in colour and offered red and dark fruit, cherry, blackberry, chocolate, spices, black pepper and some liquorice on the nose and palate, with medium-level acidity, smooth tannin and good length. The wine had average concentration, but good complexity. It was alcoholic, but reasonably smooth and reasonably balanced. Probably the best Bleasdale wine I had to date, but as every bottle of Bleasdale wine I had before, ultimately this wine left me underwhelmed. The additional bottle age has helped, but I doubt that the wine will go the long distance. For mid-term drinking.
