Friday, November 3, 2006 - Aroma: Rich cherry, red currant, and a slightly dusty smokiness.
Flavor: Terrific balance of cherry and wild strawberry with an acidic bite that was refreshing. Also took on a sweeter, more robust mouthfeel as we ate, particularly with the ginger and other slightly spicy foods.
General impression: A wonderful Pinot Noir value at $28/bottle direct from the winery. Clearly going to cost more next year. A wildly successful accompaniment to the matsutake soup, which brought out the earthiness of this wine more than any other dish.
