Decanted for 30 minutes first, then tasted from an Oregon Pinot Noir glass to see what this would reveal. Interesting technical details from the website: This wine is the product of two organically-farmed Sta. Rita Hills vineyards (Spear and Robert Rae). "75% whole cluster fermentation...30+ days on the skins.... Pressed into neutral French oak barrels for aging." Lovely aromatic balance between red fruits and dust, graphite, and earthy funk. Dry mouthfeel, nice tannins and acidity. Flavors tend toward tart strawberry, fresh red raspberry, and raspberry hard candy. Mid-palate is long and smooth, aftertaste is reminiscent of the earthy aromas. Terrific quality, really like this style of Grenache!

Decanted for 90 minutes and chilled first. Tasted from an Oregon Pinot Noir glass. Wow, this wine is coming along so well! Right now, the aroma is focused on toasty oak, but it's so rich and encompassing that you want to climb in the glass. Yellow stone fruit, hazelnut, and a hint of smoke accompany the oak. Flavors of lemon pulp and zest, white peach, and white oak. In a good place, but keep holding if you prefer less of an oak profile (hold out for the tropical notes to develop).

10/6/2021 9:09:00 AM - Understood, and thanks for the reply! Just thought to look here, since when I checked a few days ago, you hadn't been on the site for a while. Stay safe, and let's plan on '22. It has to be better than the last 2 years, right?
10/5/2021 6:48:00 PM - Howdy!! Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it! I'm still staying locked down with my family until we can get my whole family vaccinated, but let's stay in touch! I hope 2022 is a little more "normal" for socializing. :)
10/3/2021 5:19:00 PM - Hi HCV! Hope you've been well since we traded comments a couple of months ago. Are you possibly interested in doing a tasting in SF on 11/13? If yes, please comment with your e-mail address to one of my recent TNs, I'll e-mail you, then you can wipe the comment with your e-mail address (unless you want to leave it on CT). You'll have 90 minutes and I'll be checking my laptop until 10 or so, so we should be able to connect pretty quickly if you're around.
