90 Points

Monday, April 2, 2018 - This (the "Logan") is essentially an entry-level Talbott Pinot and I have seen it priced anywhere from $18-24. This wine exemplifies both Talbottt's commitment to making high quality Pinot (and Chard) at all price points and why Santa Lucia Highlands (SLH) wines really deserve a serious look (and drink) from those who like Pinot and Chard, but don't want to dole out $40 for a disappointing wine. The wine was neither timid nor overpowering, with solid berry fruit and a touch of earthy oak. Everything seemed balanced and integrated. Just a very good Pinot, outstanding Quality to Price Ratio (QPR). Look for the Logan sub-brand and the Sleepy Hollow Vineyards notation. Best by end of 2018.
