This (the "Logan") is essentially an entry-level Talbott Pinot and I have seen it priced anywhere from $18-24. This wine exemplifies both Talbottt's commitment to making high quality Pinot (and Chard) at all price points and why Santa Lucia Highlands (SLH) wines really deserve a serious look (and drink) from those who like Pinot and Chard, but don't want to dole out $40 for a disappointing wine. The wine was neither timid nor overpowering, with solid berry fruit and a touch of earthy oak. Everything seemed balanced and integrated. Just a very good Pinot, outstanding Quality to Price Ratio (QPR). Look for the Logan sub-brand and the Sleepy Hollow Vineyards notation. Best by end of 2018.
I love this wine! Medium body, good acidity with notes of fresh cherries, and sandal wood, well integrated and rounded. Long finish, food friendly and great for sipping. This wine may be near its peak.

Tasted blind. Medium (+) ruby with some garnet. The nose is clean, medium (+) in intensity, with black plum, stewed red fruit, fresh herb, savory spice - and pleasant cinnamon, vanilla and other oak-induced spices. The palate is dry, but very fruit-forward, with medium or medium (+) acidity, medium tannins and medium (+) to high alcohol (14.2%). Drinking well now, with several years of aging potential. A very tasty wine wine at a great price at COSTCO ($18.00). Much less of a value at the winery price of $42.00?

Dark ruby in the glass, fruit forward with baking spice and a tad of vanilla, with the characteristic SLH nose, floral with a bit of menthol. Alcohol high and not yet resolved.

Pleasant New World Pinot nose displays cherries, beets, earth, and oak spice. Exhibits an attractive umami aspect that goes well with its crisp texture and varietal flavors. Picks up pepper on the finish.

I continue to really like this SLH Pinot. It has an inviting, expressive nose that lingers. Tastes of cola, cherries, strawberry... quite complex with a nice finish. Nicely paired with fish or lighter dishes, but fruit forward enough to stand up to slightly heartier foods. I still view this as among the best $20 Pinot values from central coast CA.

disappointed. I know that I should not expect too much from an $18 pinot, but the vineyard (which is the source of an Arcadian pinot that I am very fond of in pretty much every vintage) amped up my hopes.
Instead, this is a serviceable (although slightly flabby) but in no way compelling pinot that reflects its price point. For me, very much below the level of the Au Bon Climat intro or a couple of others that can be found for roughly the same price.

OK, this is a REALLY nice Pinot for $20. Expressive nose, very inviting. Tastes of cola, cherries, strawberry... quite complex with a nice finish. A bigger Pinot, typical of SLH. My wife isn't generally a fan of Pinot, and she really liked this wine. Would definitely buy again.

Cherry, rose petal and tomato leaf on the nose. Rich dark fruit flavors with good acidity and a hint of ginger. A little more backbone and oak than the Kali Hart.

Delicious. Consistent with my previous note. My wife really liked, which is saying a lot since she doesn't usually like Pinots.
