Saturday, July 8, 2023 - Decanted for 30 minutes but continued to open for 30 minutes more. The color was a deep dark ruby to a lighter rim. Dark fruits and baking spices on the nose. The medium plus bodied palate showed lots of dark fruits (black cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant), baking spices (esp. cinnamon), and only touches of minerality, oak and tannin. The acidity was juicy and balancing. Not sure I agree that this wine is past its prime - as others have said - but I would suggest opening, decanting and enjoying it in the next year or two for maximum enjoyment.
