  • This bottle followed closely the TN of our previous bottle some nine months ago -- and was even more enjoyable -- leading me to believe that this wine is not past its prime and may continue to drink well for several more years.
After a 40 minute decant this medium plus bodied wine showed lots of dark fruit and spice, some earth, balancing acidity and a touch of tannin on the finish. Air it out and enjoy at will.

  • I have been drinking a few cases of this incrementally over the years and will consume the rest of my stash in the next 3-5 years. Still very strong. Gaining complexity and spice - especially black pepper on the finish, which is gaining length. Less vanilla than previously, but fruit is more integrated, and tertiary flavors are making this more interesting with time.

Notes are after a 2.5 hour decant. Well stored bottles still have plenty of life.

  • Decanted for 30 minutes but continued to open for 30 minutes more. The color was a deep dark ruby to a lighter rim. Dark fruits and baking spices on the nose. The medium plus bodied palate showed lots of dark fruits (black cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant), baking spices (esp. cinnamon), and only touches of minerality, oak and tannin. The acidity was juicy and balancing. Not sure I agree that this wine is past its prime - as others have said - but I would suggest opening, decanting and enjoying it in the next year or two for maximum enjoyment.

  • Thought this one was still showing some nice fruit notes, mixed with a savory element. Slightly past it’s prime, but holding strong.

  • There was sediment and this wine is past its prime. Structure is falling apart and it's getting a bit rocky. Poor QPR for what I paid. Beware.
