The nose on this wine is utter perfection. We probably spent 10 minutes just on the nose before we even took a single sip. Exceptional nose. Earthy, bright dark fruit, soft smoky, elegant but also sings. This to us was Burgundy perfection . The palate is still not at 100% and definitely drags the nose effect down . We think given 5 more years this will be even more magical should the palate sing the same tune of the nose. 100 on the nose , 95 on the pate so a 97-98 wine and what a magical experience. Unfortunately our last bottle of a 6 pack we got in 2010 and up until 4 years ago did not rate more than 93… just shows the amount of time 1999s GCs require..
