The Return to The Kitchen Table (The Kitchen Table, London): This wine has finally arrived and dare we say not 100% yet and if the latter shows up this will flirt with perfection. We opened and left it to rest for a good hour. Helpful. The nose on this wine is utter perfection. We probably spent 10 minutes just on the nose before we even took a single sip. Exceptional nose. Earthy, bright dark fruit, soft smoky, elegant but also sings. This to us was Burgundy perfection . The palate is still not at 100% and definitely drags the nose effect down . We think given 5 more years this will be even more magical should the palate sing the same tune of the nose. 100 on the nose , 95 on the pate so a 97-98 wine and what a magical experience. Unfortunately our last bottle of a 6 pack we got in 2010 and up until 4 years ago did not rate more than 93… just shows the amount of time 1999s GCs require..

Pausing for the Cause Fundraiser and Dinner (Oriole - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Tasted twice. First - when initially poured - it showed large-scaled, ripe black fruit with firm tannins but with the density to pull it off with ease. I thought it a very good Grand Cru. Re-tasted 45 minutes later, the tannins were more assertive, and was slightly less excited.

Made by Jacques Prieur and Antonin Rodet. Haven't had this for a good 6 years ( Papies 95) and we have to say the wine its still at top on the nose but the palate it seems to be a bit thinner or maybe our expectations were higher. Noe is superb, a bit more gevrey than musiny but that's probably due to the oak, smoky, roast meat, dark fruited and light spice. It is a bit less on the palate and a bit thinner than expected for the level but still superb 93-94 wine.

Jeremy. Better than expected. Herbaceous aromatics, ample fruit on palate.
