91 Points

Monday, June 11, 2012 - At the end of a great tasting. Fuzzy on some of the details, but the impression of the wine was powerful. I would have trouble considering this wine charming...especially at this point in its life. It is brooding and beastly like the better producers from Gevrey with a dark and peppery profile. The fat characteristics from the vintage inhibited its drinkability. Lacked some balance, but it was very true of where (GC not necessarily Charmes) and when it was grown- something that I appreciate very much. A noble and domineering wine that should garner a higher score with more bottle age.
