Saturday, November 14, 2015 - What a nice little bottle of wine! Single barrel production here. This is a really complex PV. Poured a dark inky purple into the glass. Initially there was a nose of red licorice, red flowers, and a small hint of clove and truffle. The wine itself was allowed to open for probably 2 hours before the first glasses were poured. The only thing different about the nose was that the licorice and flowers just seemed a little darker. On the front is a silky wine that SHOULD be balanced by "grit" towards the finish (but wasn't). The wine enters with black cherry and black licorice, a hint of fig and truffle in the middle, alonside a much milder plum note. This wine was actually lighter than I expected. The finish was long, but perhaps a little more acidic than believed. All in all this is a good wine to slowly pour and sip on Charcuterie.
