Thursday, July 28, 2022 - "Guy's Night": Aged Napa (Joe & Khem's Place, Mpls): Very dark red color with a 1mm clear margin. Splash double decanted . Drank a glass plus over 2 hours. Drank in a flight with '96 Heitz Martha's and '96 Togni. Really quite pretty cassis on the nose, dried wood, hints of menthol, ground spices, and later emerging floral tones. The palate offers a mix of that pretty cassis, tar and scorched earth, more wood notes, tangy blackberry sweet tarts, and spices on a round full bodied frame. Excellent, got better over the two hours.
