Sunday, February 10, 2019 - Decanted 1.5 hours. Enjoyed over the next 3 hours.
Nose had blackcurrants with touches of vanilla and sandalwood. Opulent, elegant and deep.
Palate had blackcurrants, dried roses and cedar. Immense weight on the midpalate. Velvety mouthfeel with >1 min long finish.
Wine fully opened up at the 2nd hour of drinking.
An undoubtedly complex wine that I feel has past its adolescence. Still a long way to its peak, but, given enough air, already very delightful at this stage.
