Saturday, November 21, 2015 - Really looks great in the glass deep rich ruby in color the color holds to the edge. Some sassy legs strong enough to make my wife jealous. Nose is powerful to be clear this is not coming across fruit bomb city it's got that dry creek mineral nose. Picking up leather pine and light cedar. Might be crazy but I am getting hints of red currant maybe blackberry. But the dark berries are taking the back seat to everything going on. I have spent a half of the bottle getting aquatinted to the nose. As the nose would suggest comes in dry hint of alcohol just enough tannin maybe blackberry and the both currant but the leather earth and branches from it are the stars. Rolls nicely through your palate thought there would be a bit more body and lushness but I won't knock it for that. Finish sticks around like an old friend you are catching up with more mineral some hints of vanilla fighting through the tannins and slight spice. I have three bottles left will sit on them if I can I think this wine has the potential for a interesting varied journey
