Wednesday, August 31, 2016 - I was pleasantly surprised by this wine, I expected a overripe, over oaked, alcoholic, very sweet fruit bomb and what was in my glass was a bit more subtle than that. The oak was spicy but within context and you could still taste Zinfandel under it. The alcohol was not apparent and yes it was a slightly sweet Zinfandel fruit bomb, but was just understated enough to work nicely with rustic food. As to aging, it is ready now and further aging will not make it more charming, but the window should be a year or so wide.
