Spicy smoke of a flavorful bbq outdoors with tangy raspberry still on the vine is the nose. Sweet chocolate covered strawberry and vanilla with salty bacon and vinegar come forward to add balance and the taste of dill pickle lingers for a moment as this wine leaves the palate. An Incredibly enjoyable and drinkable wine with a price tag to boot.

I was pleasantly surprised by this wine, I expected a overripe, over oaked, alcoholic, very sweet fruit bomb and what was in my glass was a bit more subtle than that. The oak was spicy but within context and you could still taste Zinfandel under it. The alcohol was not apparent and yes it was a slightly sweet Zinfandel fruit bomb, but was just understated enough to work nicely with rustic food. As to aging, it is ready now and further aging will not make it more charming, but the window should be a year or so wide.

Sweet, smokey, and jammy. Good to drink without much time to let it breathe.
