Developing aromas of green olive and leafy currants don't promise a lot, but have a quiet authority to them. The palate is middle-aged, not terribly intense, but polished and subtle. It's got a little Australian eucalypt about it; medium-bodied, and with soft dusty tannins. It doesn't lack freshness either, although it appears a long way from its peak; or else possible this is all there is. Which sounds more damning than it should; it's an understated but competent - perhaps unfashionable - wine which manages a medium length finish of quiet presence. Probably worth holding another 5 years I reckon.
