Monday, October 17, 2011 - Decanted off of medium sediment. Dark, smoky plum color with fully bricked rim. Aromas of dark cherry, coffee, and sous bois. Flavors have actually developed and expanded from the last bottle sampled circa 2004, which was all alcohol and tannin. Now, the wine has barrel notes of dill and coffee as well as dark cherry, plum, and a leafy forest floor. Exceeded expectations and a fun foray into history. Drink or hold.
