Almost a pale ruby shade, sweet strawberries, cherries, wilted roses, flinty, orange peel, well integrated oak spice. Fruits were showing very pure and sappy. With air it turned more serious, the fruits sweeter, and the bouquet more mellow. I can imagine this having been though some awkward phase before but the time to drink this is now and I wouldn’t wait on it. While comparisons with CLB were drawn, I thought this most reminded me of a Cathiard, with less extraction on the palate and more floral notes on the nose.
