Wednesday, September 2, 2015 - A fairly even bright-ish light red with clear signs of youth at the rim.
Quite a big red fruit nose, with almost meaty-beetrooty overtones and some sort of vaguely marjoram-like herbal notes.
Light, fruity palate with fragrant, juicy red fruits. Initially, it seems rather delicious and inordinately drinkable. It's not at all overdone: there's a bit of sweetness to the fruit, but no hint of jamminess whatsoever. That initial bright, youtful fruit gives way to some depth and good character. There's a notable acidity that keeps it balanced. Just a hint of tannins on the finish. Very, very, very long after.
There's actually plenty of interest in this, beyond being merely delicious.
I am much more impressed by this, than I thought I was going to be, and at a mere £12.99 from Edencroft Wines, it seems a very good buy.
