Friday, September 18, 2020 - Nose: Started off a bit muted, but after about 90 minutes in this became deeply expressive. Blueberry, blackberry, graphite, earth and sweet floral notes. Touches of cedar as well.

Palate: Such restraint in winemaking as one would expect from Togni. Blackberry, cassis, graphite, sweet cedar and a magnificent inner mouth perfume. Very serious terroir, with dark sweet spring mountain fruit.

Finish: perfumed blueberry, blackberry, truffle and graphite. Lingers very long.

A very serious second wine that is really showing off the agability of the 2001s. Pauillac made in Napa. I cannot wait to dig into the first wine from this vintage.
