Nose: Started off a bit muted, but after about 90 minutes in this became deeply expressive. Blueberry, blackberry, graphite, earth and sweet floral notes. Touches of cedar as well.
Palate: Such restraint in winemaking as one would expect from Togni. Blackberry, cassis, graphite, sweet cedar and a magnificent inner mouth perfume. Very serious terroir, with dark sweet spring mountain fruit.
Finish: perfumed blueberry, blackberry, truffle and graphite. Lingers very long.
A very serious second wine that is really showing off the agability of the 2001s. Pauillac made in Napa. I cannot wait to dig into the first wine from this vintage.

Popped and poured. Aromas of dark fruits from the glass before I even swirled and sniffed. On the nose, blue berry, violets, strong dark fruits. More dark fruit and a bit of earthiness on the pallate. Subdued finish 30-45 second finish. Another excelllent example of a solid Napa Cabernet.

Bottle's been open a good 2 hours now and is just starting to strut its stuff. Dark, opaque red. Powerful bouquet, fills the bowl of the glass substantially--its vapor thick as it reaches your nostrils. Getting dark, sweet preserved fruits, wet dust, a hint of vanilla and toasty oak. On the palate this is pure elegance as far as California Cabs go--this could be a dead ringer for Bordeaux (in fact, reminds me of the '03 Pontet Canet). Sweet and abundant tannins and a 40 second+ finish. A nice pucker of acidity gets you at the end.

Good medium ruby. Aromatic nose combines cassis, smoke, licorice and leather. Fruity and lively in the mouth, showing firm berry fruit nicely framed by fresh acids. Brighter and more gripping than the 2002 sample, with more complex, primary flavors. Not hugely dense but rich, shapely and persistent.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Firm black fruit aromas and flavors. Good power and density. Fresh for its age and level.

This wine is in perfect place now, Tannic resolved and still plenty of fruit cassis, a bit tough of vanilla for sure. Great with a steak

Distinctive note of rubber/vinyl on the nose, so typical of Napa Cabernet. Too young and tightly wound still. (Dedalus Private Tasting)
