Sunday, August 20, 2017 - A terrific value, true to my favorite petite sirah characteristics. Almost opaque, with the typical brilliant dark purple color; classic petite sirah nose, with damson plums, spice and cocoa; delicious spicy blue and purple fruit with a touch of bittersweet chocolate, holding well through the midpalate; chewy tannins for balance, with a long, dark finish. Not bad as a pop and pour, but as I'm finding with so many of the serious younger petite sirahs (and it is serious), it hit its peak at day 3 after opening - it needs oxygen.
