Sunday, September 15, 2013 - {cork, 13.5%} All youthful liquorice and sarsparilla on the nose. Jammy. The palate is medium-bodied, largely tannin-free, with minimal oak, some acid, and loads of ripe, jubey blackcurrent and sweet liquorice fruit. It's warm without seeming too alcoholic, and coats the front half of the tongue with flavour; the back palate isn't much troubled. It's a little too polished to be called rustic, but that's its underlying personality. Given the fairly serious structural deficiencies, it's not a wine I'd age for long, but it's decent, flavourful drinking now.
