Saturday, June 14, 2014 - Eric's Birthday at La Vigna: Fully mature though no sign of decline. Meat, wet earth, rich middle of ripe red fruit. touch of tannins on the finish. bit drying but still very fresh. Herbs and red fruit dominate. excellent now. this summed up our italian flight for the night - excellent wine on their own and even better with food.

6/14/2014 7:56:00 AM - This was a beautiful, mature bottle of Sangiovese. Also a perfect example of how well pure Sangiovese can age in a good vintage from a great producer. Rich yet balanced and still slightly austere--just a beautiful wine in a perfect place.
