Friday, March 24, 2023 - Somewhat shut down on the palate at this stage and the oak is yet to join; I think this will benefit from time.

Somewhat quiet on the palate - slight bell pepper, a whisper of brambly fruit and lots of vanilla oak.

Promising structure; nice balance with semi-fine grippy tannins (oak astringency notable) and backing acidity.

Leaving this open to slow ox for ~24 hours improved but did not fully open this wine.

Needs to time to integrate and re-assert itself, but I am confident this will be a great wine in time.
