Tuesday, December 5, 2023 - 90 minute decant, 60 F. Still a rich ruby color with very fine sediment. Red fruits, floral notes, smoke, cedar and a touch of acetone on the nose. Silky tannins, integrated alcohol and acidity, slightly chunky oak. Lush, full-bodied Margaux. Lovely blackberry and black currant fruit, sweet tobacco and a hint of earthy pine-forest floor. Disappointed by the very short clean drying finish. No real sign of tertiary notes yet. This may be just emerging from a dumb phase, should improve over the next 3-5 years.

12/10/2023 6:01:00 PM - Your comment about the short finish was spot on. It reminds me of my 2008 Montrose bottles and they have not budged a bit. I am not super hopeful with these but one can only hope
