Wednesday, June 13, 2018 - Deep purple in color. Nose of violet and cedar box after a 3 hour decant. Plum, slight tobacco and burned wood on the attack. Red fruit on the mid-palate. I’m not sure how to best describe the finish, other than to say that it wasn’t long and it didn’t show much fruit. It’s young, so maybe it needs some more time to integrate in the bottle. It didn’t have the lush mouthfeel i think of from Margaux, but maybe it’s just a baby. Light tannins.
If you have several, try one young and then go back after a year or three.
