100 Points

Friday, January 17, 2014 - "Best of the Best" Tasting (Switzerland): Tasted blind, double decanted back into same bottle and out of 0.75 bottle:
I am always stunned when I am fortunate enough to have a Guigal in the glass. The color of the wine is much closer to a Pinot than it is to a new world Shiraz. The nose reminds me of ripe raspberry, chocolate yoghurt, in combination with exotic herbs, white pepper, and sweet berries. Elegance combined with sweetness and subtle power. This wine shows so many layers of flavors, is powerful yet very gracious with an enormous length. Just amazing and hard to describe in words. A perfect 100 Points!!! Drink now - 2030.
