1985 Château d'Yquem

Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - Yquem’s 1985 really shows off the fresh, intense orange rind side of Yquem. Cream, pineapple, and white peach develop with time in the decanter and while I love the style, I find this wanting a bit in the way of complexity and depth. Still showing quite young (even after a 6 hour decant), I would be inclined to hold these another 20 years to allow the interesting tertiary notes of mature Yquem to develop.
