Saturday, May 23, 2020 - Cellaraid - Giuseppe Cortese Barbaresco Vertical; 5/15/2020-5/24/2020 (Delivered to Home): Deep, murky garnet core with browned fading edges, viscous and highly extracted. Nose of purple flowers and savoury stewed meat, even a slight hint of ginseng and blue cheese fungus. High alcohol heat, chewy tannins, and huge underlying power and blackberry intensity, with mint, pepper, paprika, cocoa, and charcuterie. Very long finish which still has a lot of remnant power, with mint and chocolate. A fabulous wine, and I think it’s at its best spot now
