Sunday, March 31, 2013 - Last tasted a year ago. This is starting to open up and soften up a bit. What gets me is how distinctly "Italian" this wine is. You can smell and taste the soil/land, and this made an amazing accompaniment to rosticini on the grill. Amazing complexity (tar, herbs, plums, black cherries), and tannins that are approachable after about 2 hours in the decanter. Give this tons of air and it'll be well worth it. I have a few more and think I'll let them sit for 2, 5, and 10 years respectively. Long ways to go...
