It is perhaps my favorite Pontet-Canet tasted to date, nudging out only the brooding 2010 vintage, which is probably a better wine, and will probably be longer-lived. Medium plus to high acid, along with copious plush tannins grace a deeply satisfying finish of exceptional length. Medium body, and at 13 abv, impeccable balance. It should evolve over the next fifteen years, likely improve, and last fifteen years thereafter. High QPR! 96-98.
