Friday, January 1, 2016 - Opaque purple color turning crimson at the rim with a transparent edge. The nose is incredibly perfumed, deeply concentrated and ripe with notes of dark berries, licorice, vanilla bean, and cocoa. The palate is full-bodied, luscious, utterly pure, and layered with complexity; velvety in texture. Beams of blackberry, black tea, boysenberry, fig paste, dark chocolate, espresso and smoke flavors abound. The wine is elegantly well-balanced; dashing vibrancy and plushness that's expressive of the vintage. Fantastic, amazing, complete wine. Finishes long and round on smooth, velvety tannin with hints of cola and pencil shavings. Drink now with a 20-minute decant until 2025.
