Saturday, August 6, 2016 - Decanted for a good hour. Tasted blind.
Very much a Syrah a hermitage in many ways with that extra twist of ripeness. The oak is fully assi, imaged and lacked thankfully that lactic feel that Aussie Shiraz sometimes has. It di come though with a feel of over ripeness , almost raisiny feeling at times. On the nose it was very spicy , lots of white pepper. Good wine but for the pedigree, age and price we all felt disappointed. 92-93 at best
