Friday, May 1, 2015 - Whenever I find myself thinking that Bordeaux is overrated or it is too expensive I will come to my senses when I actually open a bottle of it. To my substantial amazement I find I paid $8 for this a few years back; to my substantial annoyance, I find I bought only two. Wine-Searcher is currently showing it at $40.
This has everything one would want in a typical Bordeaux: the fragrant cedary, cigar-boxy nose, abundant sharp berry fruit, moderate but not acerbic tannins. It could age a decent while but I think it was pretty optimal right now.
