Solid and full bodied Bordeaux. Dry with some intensity and heavy dark fruits with notes of licorice and blackberry. Well structured with mild mid palate acidity and soft tannin on the extended finish. Intensity and dryness are dominant.

Ripe, mellow and a bit sweet with a touch of tobacco on the nose. Merlot shows as well as the good vintage. Can actually hold this for some more years for it to become more streamlined and fine.

Presented itself very much like a wine from Margaux. No question this punches above its weight. While still young, this has the weight and balance to drink well now. The tannins are quite round and unobtrusive. The nose exhibits lots of tobacco, along with black currant, cedar, green pepper, and white flowers. Medium weight on the palate. You can really sense some nice complexity here, but if it lacking anywhere, it is in the finish. The length is a bit short, and the acidity is not quite where it should be. Overall, this is an excellent value. We saved some for another day, and it was actually smoother and more poised on the second day. A definite value buy.

Whenever I find myself thinking that Bordeaux is overrated or it is too expensive I will come to my senses when I actually open a bottle of it. To my substantial amazement I find I paid $8 for this a few years back; to my substantial annoyance, I find I bought only two. Wine-Searcher is currently showing it at $40.
This has everything one would want in a typical Bordeaux: the fragrant cedary, cigar-boxy nose, abundant sharp berry fruit, moderate but not acerbic tannins. It could age a decent while but I think it was pretty optimal right now.

Medium body, deep ruby color. Intense black fruits, leather and smoked wood aroma. Dominant ripe plum, spicy and peppery palate, long finish. Bold texture, balanced and complex, well integrated tannin, fresh berries acidity. Serve 18º - 22º. Drink now and next seven years perhaps longer.

I largely abandoned Bordeaux years ago because the value for money was so poor and often times the wines are not that accommodating with food. Happy to report that, when the price is slashed by a factor of three (and will this become the norm he hopes?) and the vintage is a good one, we can enjoy once again. No Lafite is this, or Mouton, but well structured and ripe, with a nice attack of ripe currants, inky dark extract, modest tannins. A buy.

Nice Bourgeois, really tells you the depth of quality in 2005. Nose of fresh red fruits and a little smoke. On the palate red fruits and sweet tannin, very refreshing with good freshness. Drink in the next 5-10 years.

Pop & poured. This wine really opened up over about 3 hours. Very nice balance. No reason to hold. Wish I had more.

Decent with some life left. Standard right bank Bordeaux flavors. Been a while since I drank it. Will leave better notes with next bottle.

A serviceable old-world claret, but simple, a bit disjointed, & undistinguished.

1990s Bordeaux quartet round #1 meeting #1 (Yagil's home): dark red-black color;
pleasant quality aroma of a medium-level wine;
enjoyable on the palate and a nice surprise for this price-level.
