Sunday, August 7, 2011 - Consistent with previous bottle from one year ago. Still a few years left in this aged Aussie Syrah. Fruit has begun to fad although black current is still prominent on the nose. Secondary notes of smoke, wild game, and forest floor emerge from the glass as well. Silk like tannins with a nice overall balance on the palate. Dark fruits and truffle in the mouth with a 30 second finish. A nice change from the typical over saturated fruit bomb that has come to dominate the Australian wine landscape.
