Saturday, January 14, 2012 - Darker garnet. Opens with a big nose of blueberry, blackberry, dark plums, but first taste is crisp and tart showing more red fruit. After about an hour, dark and rich and the initial cranberry tinge is gone. A small hint of forest floor, ending with coffee and plum. Well worth the price tag and drinking well right now. From the stellar wine list at the Louisiana Purchase in Banner Elk NC.
