Darker garnet. Opens with a big nose of blueberry, blackberry, dark plums, but first taste is crisp and tart showing more red fruit. After about an hour, dark and rich and the initial cranberry tinge is gone. A small hint of forest floor, ending with coffee and plum. Well worth the price tag and drinking well right now. From the stellar wine list at the Louisiana Purchase in Banner Elk NC.

This is a great time to be drinking this Syrah. I wouldn't hold onto it much more. I paid $15 for it on winebid.com and it was a STEAL at this price. Not a jammy and sweet syrah. More Rhone in style.
