Sunday, September 22, 2013 - Decant 1.5 hours. Interesting based on some of the comments below as this bottle isn't showing much on the nose and has muted fruit and it doesn't seem like the tannins have fully resolved. Medium-short finish. I'll hold the other bottle for a couple more years and see what happens.

Right now the 2005s are shut down hard and not really providing any pleasure at all. Over time those hard tannins should soften and the fruit will mature. Lagrange is a lovely wine....but patience is required I am afraid in order to experience it at its best.

9/23/2013 9:09:00 AM - Yeah, we have planned our next btl (of 7) to be had in 2018. That's when we have planned to also drink our final btl of '95 Lagrange. As I prefer mature wines to fruity expressions, I can only recommend you keep this one. Over 7000 btls currently owned by CT:ers and only some measly 400 btls opened by CT:ers. Guess that speaks as clearly as Pjaines: "Keep!"

9/23/2013 2:30:00 PM - Some times I try to get my head around Beaujolais, Pinot noir and other wine-like things that are difficult to recommend, but that some ppl (like Pjaines for instance) hold in high esteem :-)
Wife and I try really hard to find great wines at attractive prices, even if the great Bordeaux wines are still unbeaten on our pleasure meters.
