90 Points

Monday, July 30, 2007 - A lost-in-the-fridge puzzler. On day 1, not showing very well with some heat and not much fruit, perhaps more challenging than a Ceretto Blange but lacking that wine's thirst quenching simplicity. On day 4, sort of muted and showing obvious alcohol, along with beginnings of some oxidation. But on day 5, to my great surprise, this is nothing short of wonderful, with a subtle nose of beeswax, sweat and lemon peel, on the palate some sweet lemon curd, plenty of chalky minerality and tangy acidity, finishing with some wool and more citric bits. Well balanced and a little reminiscent of a young dry Loire chenin. And yeah, i'm more than a little surprised by the evolution of this wine.
