Tuesday, January 22, 2008 - 2005 Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux Tasting (Drake Hotel, Chicago, Illinois): 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petite Verdot. A very fine wine but both the 2000 and 2003 wines were better. Soft tannins in comparison ot other 2005's. Lead pencil shavings on the nose. Dry texture with notes of charcoal and berries. 93 points.
