Monday, September 11, 2017 - Nebbiolo. Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo. Opaque Red Garnett color. Intense cool (almost menthol), lovely banana/peach aroma. An intense initial taste -- this wine needs to sit for a bit. A full-body, earthy/dusty oak with a hint of spice/pepper and a nice, slightly tart/acidic finish. Not as fruit forward as its nose. The tannin is finely course and a rounded - the way I like tannin. I like it; I like it's bigness and complexity. I'll write another review in a second paragraph after the wine sit for a bit.

Apparently, I have no patience for decanting. I did leave the open for a couple hours and in the glass for 10 minutes -- and swirling a bit. The nose is still has a Peach / Banana with a medicinal menthol. Much softer is the fruit and a med-full body pleasant citrus and oak. I like the big acidity with the medium/full tannin.
