Friday, May 20, 2011 - Provenance must have been good here because the cork looked like it was inserted just yesterday. Grenachy nose of kirsch, strawberry jam and tomato juice (an aroma I often find in Rayas). Ripe, red fruit on the palate, licorice, plenty of variety. Good structure, is well contained. Enter some warm, baked fruit after a couple of hours. Gets better and better with air, broadens out nicely with multiple layers and lingers on the palate. There is a floral element here which gives the wine grace and elegance. A really beau vin and there is no hurry to drink up.
