Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - A wine brimming with butterscotch, vanilla, oak and sweet red fruits, the nose is just a candy store of flavors. It is amazing how the nose of this wine can so thoroughly fool one's sense of smell into believing this is a glass full of liquid Starbursts. The palate completely shifts the focus to luscious red fruit, fine but drying tannin, oak cooperage and a very tight structure. The concentration is great, while the balance and finish seamless. I am quite impressed with this young Margaux, and I suspect there is a lot yet to enjoy about this wine as it matures over the next 10 years.
