Friday, October 16, 2009 - Medium yellow. Very interesting mix of florality, orange oil, and pungent green herbs on the nose. As I noted earlier in the year, this has more generosity of texture than just about any other '01 Chablis I've tasted, tonight finishing with a distinctly buttery note. Good acidity. Probably best during the first 2/3 of the bottle; after that, the fruit seemed to fade and it became more austere. Perhaps not the most classic Chablis, but full of character and interest. Ready to go.
