Wednesday, November 6, 2019 - Tasting of Bouchard Père Premier and Grand Cru Wines (Beaune, France): Clear light ruby center. Loads of soil and wintergreen. Medium weight, round soil base. Complex already, not at all fruit driven, but it shares that citrus peel twist with other reds tasted today. Long soil finish with the tannins catching up and providing more grip at the end. Given that, it is surprising that is showing so well at present. Exceptionally elegant, refined version of Clos Vougeot.
