Friday, May 8, 2009 - Opened with no decant, surprisingly lighter in color than what I come to expect of a Bdx blend, reminded me more of a pinot, clear ruby red. Initial hints of a bitt of Brett, but seems to be blowing off to reveal red fruits, licorice, touch of mint, and a hard to place vegetal element. Palate is a bit acidic, the fruit is bright but a bit short. Bing Cherry, cedar, mint, tobacco. Says it was 20 months in oak, but it isn't obtrusive so likely was mix of old and new barrels. Don't think this will get much better with age, but will revise if following glasses/night tasting differs. 50+4+10+13+7=84
