Friday, January 1, 2016 - Not had a corked wine for some time but this clearly was. Drinkable but not much fun. Fairly dark garnet with translucent rim. Beneath the cork taste, there seemed to be a nice, traditional claret. Tannins are fine and almost entirely resolved. Seemed around 89-91, for once the Poyferre does not seem to reach the quality of the exceptionally good Langoa Barton in the 1999 vintage. Need to try the 99 Leoville Barton.
